Fly Fishing Club
Recently, N30Y provided sponsorship and mentorship for the Fly Fishing Club in collaboration with Trout in the Classroom – an engaging educational initiative by Trout Unlimited. Through this program, club members raise trout from eggs to fingerlings, care for a thriving in-house ecosystem, and experience the joy of releasing the fish into a local trout stream, which fosters both environmental stewardship and hands-on learning.
The impact of N30Y was made clear by Brittany, a “Youth of the Year” award recipient, who found joy and adventure in the Fly Fishing Club. She enthusiastically stated, “I love Fly Fishing Club!”
Garden Club
N30Y supported the launch of a Garden Club at the Boys & Girls Club of Carroll County. This engaging initiative was designed to promote environmental stewardship, community engagement, and creative expression. As part of the project, students revitalized an existing memorial garden and expanded its footprint to include all the Panther Plex building tenants in Hampstead, MD.
Club members led every transformation step: clearing out overgrowth, planting new trees, shrubs, and perennials, and cleaning the nearby stream. To further personalize the space, students created custom memorial stones, turning the garden into a peaceful tribute. This project empowered youth to connect with nature, learn sustainable gardening practices, and take pride in improving their community.
